Seasonal variation in agronomic characteristics and sugar content of cabbage genotypes

Cabbage is one of the most popular vegetables that rich in sugars contributing to flavor and consumer acceptance; however, little information available on effect genotypes growing conditions sugar accumulation. We assessed seasonal variation agronomic characteristics free content cabbage (Brassica oleracea L. var. capitata L.) grown under open field conditions. Seventy-five were spring autumn 2019, their morphological concentrations evaluated. Six types produced predominantly round-shaped heads (64 genotypes). Bright green dominant colors depending outer inner leaves head. The variable quantitative trait was head weight both (36.9%) (49.2%). Glucose predominant seasons. Mean glucose 209.3 214.9 mg g-1 with 14.8% 14.6% variation, respectively. Most higher fructose fall than spring. Sucrose levels showed highest (36.0%) (60.5%), followed by levels. parameters exhibited nonsignificant or negative correlations content, except correlation height width content. Fructose positively correlated total while there sucrose. Genotypes 160330 183701 comparably high stable seasons can therefore be used as commercial breeding materials. revealed a significant genotype season
